A Seal Named Patches

Two polar explorers are out to solve a mystery: Where is their special seal, Patches? Scientists Roxanne Beltran and Patrick Robinson set off on a polar adventure, traveling to Antarctica to study the lives of Weddell seals. By finding Patches, a wily seal they’ve been tracking since its birth, they’ll be able to learn a lot about how much the seals get to eat and how many pups they raise. A Seal Named Patches takes young readers into the world at the very bottom of the globe, where they meet the extraordinary animals that live in cold, icy conditions. Through breathtaking photos and real-life stories, young readers will learn about how scientists do fieldwork, the challenges of researching animals in harsh climates, and even what it’s like to fly a helicopter over Antarctica. This engaging story will especially entertain and educate children in grades K-2 (ages 5–8.)

I have used this app to listen to my audio books for several years now. I keep several book series, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc., add new books, remove after read, etc. While I currently have 17 books loaded, with several books in progress, the app has never lost a reading place. Bookmarks work like a charm. I not only listen to audio books at home, I also listen while I drive. I appreciate that the app pauses during turn-by-turn directions. Thank you for an app that just does its thing flawlessly.

MP3 Books is the best app I tested among many others. The reading of the chapters follows naturally and without error. A lot of nice features like the auto reading or reading time informations. The main interest is the ability to listen all free audio books and file formats, regardless of any susbcription like Apple Books and others.

I’ve tried several audiobook apps and this is by far the best for ease of use, great features, and wonderful ui. Everything that you need is available on the main screen and easily accessible. Navigation is easy, settings for customizing are very flexible, and the support for bookmarks is superior. This is the one to buy.

Fits the bill perfectly to play audiobooks ripped from other media: premium version allows bookmarking, reading rate change (the best I've ever seen from .5x through 3x and every variation in between) and sleep timer. Plays files in multiple formats, including mp3s and m4b (audiobook version of m4a). Easy to load books through iTunes file sharing. I haven't tried the wireless method. Well worth the money for the premium version (which you can just purchase outright, but I got it free first, liked it, and almost immediately did the IAP for the pro features). Been looking for a solution since Audible discontinued the feature to play your own iTunes audiobook library and iBooks is inadequate. This is it. Highly recommended. Found this while trying to figure out how to play a library of audiobooks from a favorite author ripped from cassettes and CDs (not available on Audible - always my go-to).
