Black Lives and Spatial Matters is a call to reconsider the epistemic violence that is committed when scholars, policymakers, and the general public continue to frame Black precarity as just another racial, cultural, or ethnic conflict that can be solved solely through legal, political, or economic means. Jodi Rios argues that the historical and material production of blackness-as-risk is foundational to the historical and material construction of our society and certainly foundational to the construction and experience of metropolitan space. She also considers how an ethics of lived blackness--living fully and visibly in the face of forces intended to dehumanize and erase--can create a powerful counter point to blackness-as-risk.Using a transdisciplinary methodology, Black Lives and Spatial Matters studies cultural, institutional, and spatial politics of race in North St. Louis County, Missouri, as a set of practices that are intimately connected to each other and to global histories of race and race-making. As such, the book adds important insight into the racialization of metropolitan space and people in the United States. The arguments presented in this book draw from fifteen years of engaged research in North St. Louis County and rely on multiple disciplinary perspectives and local knowledge in order to study relationships between interconnected practices and phenomena.

The default music player doesn’t make it easy to add audio books from mp3, you can do it but it’s a pain in the but. This app makes it easy! I have been using it for years and I have been getting the updates for free! After my 1 time purchase. I like this app so much I deleted the music app and just have this.

I have a large list of audiobooks download in mb4 for and have tried many different apps. This is by far the best and most convenient app. It also automatically gets the cover art for each book. I recommend getting the pro so that there are no listening limits.

Fits the bill perfectly to play audiobooks ripped from other media: premium version allows bookmarking, reading rate change (the best I've ever seen from .5x through 3x and every variation in between) and sleep timer. Plays files in multiple formats, including mp3s and m4b (audiobook version of m4a). Easy to load books through iTunes file sharing. I haven't tried the wireless method. Well worth the money for the premium version (which you can just purchase outright, but I got it free first, liked it, and almost immediately did the IAP for the pro features). Been looking for a solution since Audible discontinued the feature to play your own iTunes audiobook library and iBooks is inadequate. This is it. Highly recommended. Found this while trying to figure out how to play a library of audiobooks from a favorite author ripped from cassettes and CDs (not available on Audible - always my go-to).

I have a number of audiobooks of various formats and ages, collected over decades. I digitized them all to use on mobile devices before iPhones even existed, but obviously now I’d rather not carry a separate device around with me. MP3 Audiobook Player to the rescue! This app lets me load books wirelessly, even via WebDAV, and has excellent usability features like playback speed. It can also be the target of a timer on iOS, so you can set a bedtime timer and automatically stop playback when desired. I just love it, and immediately bought the full version after I saw what it could do.
