Chicago is a rock group formed during 1967 in Chicago, Illinois, US, calling themselves the Chicago Transit Authority the following year, before shortening the name in 1969. Billboard ranked Chicago at # 13 on their list of the top 100 artists of all time for Hot 100 singles chart entries in September 2008, before placing them at # 15 on the same list produced during October 2015, also ranking them 9th on their list of the 100 greatest artists of all time for Billboard 200 album chart hits that year. Chicago is one of the world's longest-lasting and most successful rock bands, having sold over 100 million records. They were the first rock act to sell out Carnegie Hall for a week in 1971.
