Chicago is a rock group formed during 1967 in Chicago, Illinois, US, calling themselves the Chicago Transit Authority the following year, before shortening the name in 1969. The self-described 'rock 'n' roll band with horns' blended elements of classical music, jazz, R 'n' B, and pop music. Chicago is one of the world's longest-lasting and most successful rock bands, having sold over 100 million records. They were the first rock act to sell out Carnegie Hall for a week in 1971.
