James David Graham Niven, born on 1st March 1910 in Belgrave Mansions, Grosvenor Gardens, London, England, UK was an actor, memoirist and novelist. His many roles included Squadron Leader Peter Carter in A Matter of Life and Death, Phileas Fogg in Around the World in 80 Days, and Sir Charles Lytton 'the Phantom' in The Pink Panther. Niven won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in Separate Tables (1958), having also played James Bond in Casino Royale (1967). James attended Heatherdown Preparatory School and Stowe School, before getting a place at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst then joining the British Army, being commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the Highland Light Infantry. Niven developed an interest in acting, so left the army, travelling to Hollywood, where he was cast in several minor roles in movies. He 1st appeared as an extra in the British film There Goes the Bride (1932) then hired an agent who got him several small parts in pictures from 1933 to 1935, including a non-speaking role in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's Mutiny on the Bounty. This attracted wider attention within the movie industry James being spotted by Samuel Goldwyn before he returned to Britain upon the outbreak of World War II, rejoining the army, where he was recommissioned as a lieutenant.

I have used this app to listen to my audio books for several years now. I keep several book series, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc., add new books, remove after read, etc. While I currently have 17 books loaded, with several books in progress, the app has never lost a reading place. Bookmarks work like a charm. I not only listen to audio books at home, I also listen while I drive. I appreciate that the app pauses during turn-by-turn directions. Thank you for an app that just does its thing flawlessly.

I use this app. to hear the Bible, usually while exercising on a ski machine (with a separate Bluetooth speaker). The audio Bible I have is in German, so I get some language practice, too. The app. keeps the files in their proper order, which iTunes did not. I see the app. has a procedure built in for uploading files to the iPhone. I had already used 3rd party software to do that for a previous iPhone, and these files came over to this phone when I got a new phone. This app. clips the chapter number just a little when starting a new chapter, but only when using the Bluetooth speaker, so that may be a problem wit the speaker software. My previous audio book player did not do that. Other than that, it does what I want.

I just purchased a pack of MP3 audiobooks and I normally listen to Audible at 1.5 normal speed. So when I have to listen to things at normal speed or whatever it is EXCRUCIATING!!! I am so glad I found this app and the fact that you can dial up your speed by tenths instead of quarters is even better. Now if only o could figure out how to love my audible library over here...????

MP3 Books is the best app I tested among many others. The reading of the chapters follows naturally and without error. A lot of nice features like the auto reading or reading time informations. The main interest is the ability to listen all free audio books and file formats, regardless of any susbcription like Apple Books and others.
