Dear Black Men

How this book came about: Where are the safe spaces for Black men to be heard and understood? As a Black woman, I found it easier to find places of rest and decompression for myself, but where did my husband, brothers, and friends go? Who was genuinely listening to their thoughts, feelings, concerns, and experiences with an open heart? From the early days of my marriage, I realized that I had been programmed by society and hadn't given Black men the chance to authentically be themselves. What type of toll does that take on the Black man? I wanted to know. What this book is: Dear Black Men is a self-reflective journal and healing tool. It gives Black men the opportunity to reflect and express their feelings within these pages without interruption or judgment. It is an opportunity for Black men to feel heard and understood. The purpose is to create empathy while dispelling the lies, assumptions, and uncommunicated expectations that are often placed on Black men. Simply put, Dear Black Men is a mirror. Are you open to being vulnerable?

How to download audiobooks from Youtube for free on the your iPhone & iPad.

I have used this app to listen to my audio books for several years now. I keep several book series, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc., add new books, remove after read, etc. While I currently have 17 books loaded, with several books in progress, the app has never lost a reading place. Bookmarks work like a charm. I not only listen to audio books at home, I also listen while I drive. I appreciate that the app pauses during turn-by-turn directions. Thank you for an app that just does its thing flawlessly.

This app has a ton of features for listening to your audiobooks. The shake to extend the sleep timer is very convenient and a feature I miss when I switch back to the Audible app for my library there. Also, the equalizer has been a really nice addition along with the audio preset built in. I can keep my books out on my iCloud Drive and download them when I’m ready to listen. Great app!

Great app at last I can bookmark audiobooks. Once you have familiarised yourself with the app it works a treat. Just remember to click on the iPhone icon in the top bar (next to music and the up and down arrows) not on the right hand side bar. Then in the summary “file sharing” then select the app and add the audio book from windows explorer not iTunes.

Fits the bill perfectly to play audiobooks ripped from other media: premium version allows bookmarking, reading rate change (the best I've ever seen from .5x through 3x and every variation in between) and sleep timer. Plays files in multiple formats, including mp3s and m4b (audiobook version of m4a). Easy to load books through iTunes file sharing. I haven't tried the wireless method. Well worth the money for the premium version (which you can just purchase outright, but I got it free first, liked it, and almost immediately did the IAP for the pro features). Been looking for a solution since Audible discontinued the feature to play your own iTunes audiobook library and iBooks is inadequate. This is it. Highly recommended. Found this while trying to figure out how to play a library of audiobooks from a favorite author ripped from cassettes and CDs (not available on Audible - always my go-to).
