I am Morganna, a transsexual woman who has overcome many obstacles to find her place in the world. To write this book I had to dive deep into my darkest memories, some strange that are even embarrassing to tell, and some that I would have rather forget. And so in these pages I pour my heart and soul."This is a daring account that tells the brave story of a Mexican opera singer who had to fight many social prejudices, and her own family’s rejection, in order to fulfill her dream of being the happy and well-rounded woman that she is today. From her very religious childhood as Saul through the trip to Bangkok for the gender reassignment surgery, Morganna shares how hard it was to face life living in a strange body, especially in such a sexist, hypocrite, and conservative country.Inside the Body I Was Meant to Have is a great book to get acquainted with sexual and gender identity subjects, and the discrimination that comes with it.
