In this memoir, legendary publisher George Braziller captures his life in a collection of candid, often humorous vignettes. In his memoir, Encounters, completed at age 99, George Braziller, the groundbreaking independent publisher, describes in vivid detail going to work at age 16 in Depression-Era Brooklyn, his political awakening with the Spanish Civil War, his service in World War II, and his bold adventures in publishing. He recounts his start as a shipping clerk, his founding of book clubs and then his time at the helm of his publishing house, which for 60 years has brought influential books on art, architecture, poetry, fiction and non-fiction to many readers. Encounters offers glimpses behind the scenes with artists and authors, including Picasso, Orhan Pamuk, Arthur Miller and Marilyn Monroe.

This app has a ton of features for listening to your audiobooks. The shake to extend the sleep timer is very convenient and a feature I miss when I switch back to the Audible app for my library there. Also, the equalizer has been a really nice addition along with the audio preset built in. I can keep my books out on my iCloud Drive and download them when I’m ready to listen. Great app!

Playing existing mp3 audio book files should be a slam dunk for an iPhone, but Apple doesn’t make it easy. This program fills this gap in functionality. It is easy to add files, through iCloud for example, and the app’s play functions work as expected. A pleasure to use.

I have a large list of audiobooks download in mb4 for and have tried many different apps. This is by far the best and most convenient app. It also automatically gets the cover art for each book. I recommend getting the pro so that there are no listening limits.

Fits the bill perfectly to play audiobooks ripped from other media: premium version allows bookmarking, reading rate change (the best I've ever seen from .5x through 3x and every variation in between) and sleep timer. Plays files in multiple formats, including mp3s and m4b (audiobook version of m4a). Easy to load books through iTunes file sharing. I haven't tried the wireless method. Well worth the money for the premium version (which you can just purchase outright, but I got it free first, liked it, and almost immediately did the IAP for the pro features). Been looking for a solution since Audible discontinued the feature to play your own iTunes audiobook library and iBooks is inadequate. This is it. Highly recommended. Found this while trying to figure out how to play a library of audiobooks from a favorite author ripped from cassettes and CDs (not available on Audible - always my go-to).
