Using in-depth records from his family's hunting journal, including photographs and letters dating back to the 1800s and a detailed camp register from 1936 to the present, Ghost Buck draws on the long history of noted environmentalist and hunter, Dean Bennett's extended family, beginning with his beloved grandfather, and tells of the changes that have affected hunting and the landscape in western Maine since his boyhood. Combining his skills as an illustrator and story-teller, Bennett skillfully weaves memoir, natural history, politics, and hope into a volume chock-full of information about hunting in a changing world. This is not a book about how to hunt, nor is it a defense of hunting as an issue, but rather a paean to the the traditions of a family and a rura and nature-centric lifestyle that will ring true to hunters and non-hunters alike. This app has a ton of features for listening to your audiobooks. The shake to extend the sleep timer is very convenient and a feature I miss when I switch back to the Audible app for my library there. Also, the equalizer has been a really nice addition along with the audio preset built in. I can keep my books out on my iCloud Drive and download them when I’m ready to listen. Great app!

MP3 Books is the best app I tested among many others. The reading of the chapters follows naturally and without error. A lot of nice features like the auto reading or reading time informations. The main interest is the ability to listen all free audio books and file formats, regardless of any susbcription like Apple Books and others.

Playing existing mp3 audio book files should be a slam dunk for an iPhone, but Apple doesn’t make it easy. This program fills this gap in functionality. It is easy to add files, through iCloud for example, and the app’s play functions work as expected. A pleasure to use.

I have a number of audiobooks of various formats and ages, collected over decades. I digitized them all to use on mobile devices before iPhones even existed, but obviously now I’d rather not carry a separate device around with me. MP3 Audiobook Player to the rescue! This app lets me load books wirelessly, even via WebDAV, and has excellent usability features like playback speed. It can also be the target of a timer on iOS, so you can set a bedtime timer and automatically stop playback when desired. I just love it, and immediately bought the full version after I saw what it could do.
