Honest Vision: The Donald Douglas Story tells the life story of a man who foresaw and developed a critical part of our daily modern lives' the commercial airliner--yet remained relatively unknown to the general public. The author, Julie Boatman Filucci (Together We Fly: Voices from the DC-3) crafted this marvelous biography of Donald Wills Douglas mostly from the memories of the people who knew him, saw his vision, and navigated his quirks of personality and temperament, as well as from works of company history and details from the epic tale of the Douglas Aircraft Company itself. The author draws from interviews with former company employees and executives, friends and especially family members, which together presents the personal and business history of the man, and includes stories involving Douglas Aircraft, its employees and their years of production -- forming an intimate side-view of a company highly respected for their collective accomplishments. As the author states, Douglas himself rarely took credit--he routinely directed accolades to his team...his greatest strength as a leader. Her gleanings from talks with family members such as of Douglas' son and grandson help frame the story ...in a way that makes Doug's vision come through, yet also demonstrate with compassion his humanity and his failures. Douglas' company no longer survives except in the hearts of its people and deep in the archives now kept by Boeing, one of his primary competitors in his lifetime and now of course, the owner of the U.S. transport airplane manufacturing business. For those who knew him and worked with him and as emblazoned through Douglas history in its crest, Doug embodied a heart with wings which was an honest vision that he strived to make real.

How to download audiobooks from Youtube for free on the your iPhone & iPad.

I use this app. to hear the Bible, usually while exercising on a ski machine (with a separate Bluetooth speaker). The audio Bible I have is in German, so I get some language practice, too. The app. keeps the files in their proper order, which iTunes did not. I see the app. has a procedure built in for uploading files to the iPhone. I had already used 3rd party software to do that for a previous iPhone, and these files came over to this phone when I got a new phone. This app. clips the chapter number just a little when starting a new chapter, but only when using the Bluetooth speaker, so that may be a problem wit the speaker software. My previous audio book player did not do that. Other than that, it does what I want.

This app has a ton of features for listening to your audiobooks. The shake to extend the sleep timer is very convenient and a feature I miss when I switch back to the Audible app for my library there. Also, the equalizer has been a really nice addition along with the audio preset built in. I can keep my books out on my iCloud Drive and download them when I’m ready to listen. Great app!

Playing existing mp3 audio book files should be a slam dunk for an iPhone, but Apple doesn’t make it easy. This program fills this gap in functionality. It is easy to add files, through iCloud for example, and the app’s play functions work as expected. A pleasure to use.

The app allows a lot of freedom as far as organization and playback speed. Sleep timer is adjustable and combining books into series folders is simple. Equalizer helps to adjust pitch when playing at high speeds and helps reduces feedback with poor quality recordings. App never crashes and I don’t have any complaints.
