"Hypnotizing Chickens" is a charming collection of Jan Sherman's true stories--written in collaboration with Charlie McKee--of growing up in a remote gold and silver mining community during the 1920s and '30s. Travel back with Jan to a simpler time and place in the mountains of southwestern New Mexico to Mogollon, now a near ghost town since World War II. In reviewing this collection, Tom Hester (grazer of history and good writing) wrote: "Mogollon, New Mexico, and its talented memoirist Jan Sherman offer us literary gold more valuable than the metal stuff. Abandoned mine tunnels, ownerless burros, overnight fishing trips, neighborhood hermits, school bus commutes that could sum to transcontinental trips, cowboy pranks, and hypnotized hens are recreated with wit dryer than the Chihuahuan Desert." In addition to Jan Sherman's memorable stories, the book includes dozens of historic photos as well as a Mogollon map, original art by artist M. Fred Barraza, and literary contributions by Jeff Ray, Richard Mahler, and Bob and Vicki Moore.

The default music player doesn’t make it easy to add audio books from mp3, you can do it but it’s a pain in the but. This app makes it easy! I have been using it for years and I have been getting the updates for free! After my 1 time purchase. I like this app so much I deleted the music app and just have this.

Playing existing mp3 audio book files should be a slam dunk for an iPhone, but Apple doesn’t make it easy. This program fills this gap in functionality. It is easy to add files, through iCloud for example, and the app’s play functions work as expected. A pleasure to use.

The app allows a lot of freedom as far as organization and playback speed. Sleep timer is adjustable and combining books into series folders is simple. Equalizer helps to adjust pitch when playing at high speeds and helps reduces feedback with poor quality recordings. App never crashes and I don’t have any complaints.

I have a number of audiobooks of various formats and ages, collected over decades. I digitized them all to use on mobile devices before iPhones even existed, but obviously now I’d rather not carry a separate device around with me. MP3 Audiobook Player to the rescue! This app lets me load books wirelessly, even via WebDAV, and has excellent usability features like playback speed. It can also be the target of a timer on iOS, so you can set a bedtime timer and automatically stop playback when desired. I just love it, and immediately bought the full version after I saw what it could do.
