“I think books are like people, in the sense that they’ll turn up in your life when you most need them.”
David Wojnarowicz was an abused child, a teen runaway who barely finished high school, but he emerged as one of the most important voices of his generation. He found his tribe in New York's East Village, a neighborhood noted in the 1970s and '80s for drugs, blight, and a burgeoning art scene. His creativity spilled out in paintings, photographs, films, texts, installations, and in his life and its recounting-creating a sort of mythos around himself. His circle of East Village artists moved into the national spotlight just as the AIDS plague began its devastating advance, and as right-wing culture warriors reared their heads. As Wojnarowicz's reputation as an artist grew, so did his reputation as an agitator-because he dealt so openly with his homosexuality, so angrily with his circumstances as a Person With AIDS, and so fiercely with his would-be censors.Fire in the Belly is the untold story of a polarizing figure at a pivotal moment in American culture-and one of the most highly acclaimed biographies of the year.

I use this app. to hear the Bible, usually while exercising on a ski machine (with a separate Bluetooth speaker). The audio Bible I have is in German, so I get some language practice, too. The app. keeps the files in their proper order, which iTunes did not. I see the app. has a procedure built in for uploading files to the iPhone. I had already used 3rd party software to do that for a previous iPhone, and these files came over to this phone when I got a new phone. This app. clips the chapter number just a little when starting a new chapter, but only when using the Bluetooth speaker, so that may be a problem wit the speaker software. My previous audio book player did not do that. Other than that, it does what I want.Stahlbrenner
After having many problems with the built-in audiobook player that comes with Apple products I was so happy to find this application. Not only does it accept MP3 files it joins them together. I have experienced numerous problems where an MP4 book will play in iTunes but would not play in the app that comes with my iPhone. This application plays them all flawlessly. And the increased speed is perfect. As one who consumes 2 to 3 audiobooks a week this is just what I needed.tom1142
This app has a ton of features for listening to your audiobooks. The shake to extend the sleep timer is very convenient and a feature I miss when I switch back to the Audible app for my library there. Also, the equalizer has been a really nice addition along with the audio preset built in. I can keep my books out on my iCloud Drive and download them when I’m ready to listen. Great app!kwikknick
I have a number of audiobooks of various formats and ages, collected over decades. I digitized them all to use on mobile devices before iPhones even existed, but obviously now I’d rather not carry a separate device around with me. MP3 Audiobook Player to the rescue! This app lets me load books wirelessly, even via WebDAV, and has excellent usability features like playback speed. It can also be the target of a timer on iOS, so you can set a bedtime timer and automatically stop playback when desired. I just love it, and immediately bought the full version after I saw what it could do.Valdysses
