Olaus J. Murie took his first field trip as a biologist to the Hudson Bay region in 1914, observing the land and the wildlife, and learning the ways of the native people of the North. Later expeditions took him to Labrador and many part of Alaska, a land he came to know well and love deeply. What Murie experienced on these travels was recorded in the sketchbooks and journal that he always carried with him. Along with his fascinating collection of photographs, they form the basis for a narrative that combines a scientist's eye for detail and a naturalist's reverence for wilderness. I just purchased a pack of MP3 audiobooks and I normally listen to Audible at 1.5 normal speed. So when I have to listen to things at normal speed or whatever it is EXCRUCIATING!!! I am so glad I found this app and the fact that you can dial up your speed by tenths instead of quarters is even better. Now if only o could figure out how to love my audible library over here...????

This is the only audiobook player I've found that can speed books up (without changing the pitch) and still keep the sound quality very good. It sounds as good as Overcast (minus a couple features like skipping empty spots and voice boosting) but makes it easy to import books (Overcast forces you to upload them to their servers with a 2gb limit).

Playing existing mp3 audio book files should be a slam dunk for an iPhone, but Apple doesn’t make it easy. This program fills this gap in functionality. It is easy to add files, through iCloud for example, and the app’s play functions work as expected. A pleasure to use.

Fits the bill perfectly to play audiobooks ripped from other media: premium version allows bookmarking, reading rate change (the best I've ever seen from .5x through 3x and every variation in between) and sleep timer. Plays files in multiple formats, including mp3s and m4b (audiobook version of m4a). Easy to load books through iTunes file sharing. I haven't tried the wireless method. Well worth the money for the premium version (which you can just purchase outright, but I got it free first, liked it, and almost immediately did the IAP for the pro features). Been looking for a solution since Audible discontinued the feature to play your own iTunes audiobook library and iBooks is inadequate. This is it. Highly recommended. Found this while trying to figure out how to play a library of audiobooks from a favorite author ripped from cassettes and CDs (not available on Audible - always my go-to).
